On the first Tuesday in August each year, communities throughout the country simulatneously host National Night Out events with the goal to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
New in 2019, the Police and Fire Departments will face-off in a race, each contender wearing a dinosaur costume. For a charitable donation, attendees will receive water balloons to throw at the competitors as they go. The race winner will select the charity that will receive the donated funds.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
