Violations You can have an important role in helping the Zoning Department
reinforce the zoning rules established for Genoa Township by informing
us of potential zoning violations causing problems in your neighborhood.
You can conveniently report a suspected zoning violation to
the Zoning Department one of several ways.

or, you can call 614-899-0725, or stop by the zoning office
located at 5111 South Old 3C Highway during regular business hours
Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on
holidays.
At the discretion of the zoning inspector and following our
own investigation of the information provided, enforcement of zoning
compliance and, when appropriate, issuance of zoning violations
will be forthcoming.
What Are the Penalties
associated with a Zoning Violation?
The
following Genoa Township Zoning Resolution language defines a zoning
violation and the penalties associated with a zoning violation.
Section
1301 Violations
No
building shall be located, erected, constructed, reconstructed,
enlarged, changed, maintained, or used, and no land shall be used
in violation of this Zoning Resolution, or amendment or supplement
to such Resolution, adopted by the Township Trustees pursuant to
Chapter 519, Ohio Revised Code. Each day's continuation of a violation of this
Resolution shall be deemed a separate offense irrespective of whether
a separate notice of violation or affidavit charging a violation
has been served upon the violator for each day the offense continues.
1302.02 Any person, firm or corporation, violating any regulation in, or
any provision of this Resolution, or any amendments or supplement
thereto under this subsection, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than five
hundred (500) dollars. Each and every day during which such illegal
location, erection, construction, reconstruction, enlargement, change,
maintenance or use continues, may be deemed a separate offense.
