Zoning Resolution
The
Genoa Township Zoning Resolution is the official document of zoning,
comprised of two parts: the text and map.
The
text of the zoning resolution provides the purposes of zoning rules, definitions of terms, establishes
districts and their use, dimensional requirements, and establishes
local administrative and enforcement procedures.
The
color-coordinated zoning map illustrates the specific zoning
district each parcel of land is located in.
There are different requirements listed in the zoning resolution
that apply to each district.
The
Genoa Township Comprehensive Plan Regional growth and development trends continue to impact
Genoa Township. Currently,
the Township’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan is under review and meetings
are being held monthly to assess the impact of all the growth of
Genoa’s recent past and determine new actual planning strategies
for guiding future development in a way that reflects the needs
and values of new and old residents alike.
The existing Comprehensive Land Use Plan was adopted in 1999. This
document can be downloaded or can be purchased from the zoning office
at a total cost of $15.00 per copy.
The long range land use policies were established by a planning
committee of Township residents and officials whose vision and strategies
express a navigational plan in the best interest of the common good
of Genoa Township and its residents.
