School Resource Officers

officer walks amongst students during class changeofficer greets students entering schoolTwo School Resource Officers are assigned to Westerville Central High School (Officer Graham and therapy K9 Maverick) and Genoa Middle School (Officer Berner and therapy K9 Rocky) as a result of a cooperative agreement between the Westerville City School District and Genoa Township. 

Officers provide a safe school environment and help to build a positive relationship between students and police. 

Officers also regularly visit the Elementary Schools.  The officers are asked to spend at least 1 hour a week at their assigned schools.  Fouse Elementary School, Alcott Elementary School, Walnut Creek Elementary School, and Genoa Christian Academy.  

In addition to their law enforcement duties, School Resource Officers provide mentoring to students, interact with faculty and participate in the classroom as guest speakers. School Resource Officers provide a safe school environment and help to build a positive relationship between students and the police. 

School zones within the Township are carefully enforced during the following hours:

8:40 a.m.-9:10 a.m.

3:40 p.m. -4:10 p.m.

  • Tussic & Mt Royal

7:05 a.m.-7:30 a.m.

8:55 a.m.-9:20 a.m.

11:45 a.m.-1200 noon

12:45 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

2:00 p.m.-2:25 p.m.

3:35 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
