Gerry Cotter , 2008 Vice ChairpersonGerry Cotter, her husband Russell and their two children moved from Ashburn , Virginia and settled in Genoa Township in March of 2003. Gerry graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University . She went on to obtain her J.D. degree from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans where she graduated in the top 25% of her class and received the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center Public Service Award. Prior to settling in Ohio , Gerry worked as an attorney at the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor investigating companies and licensed workers handling cargo on the waterfront. She also worked in legal publishing for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education as its Publications Director. Since moving to the Township, Gerry has worked as a freelance legal editor while quickly becoming a community activist, serving as an appointed member of the Board of Zoning Appeals and on the Township Parks Committee. She has also served as President of the local MOM'S Club, President of the Genoa Township Community Organization, and teaches Sunday School for preschoolers at their church. No newcomer to becoming involved, Gerry previously served as a Mediator for the New York Center for Interpersonal Development and as the Director for a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

Barbara Lewis, 2008 ChairpersonBarbara Lewis was raised in Genoa Township and attended Big Walnut High School . She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Masters and Doctoral Degrees from The Ohio State University where she has taught Political Science for the past several years. She is also an independent political strategist who has managed several major election campaigns and is currently the campaign manager for the re-election of an Ohio Supreme Court Justice. Barb served as president of the Lake of the Woods #4 Neighborhood Association from 2004-2008 and was an active member of the 2005 Genoa Police and Fire Levy Committee. She has also served on the Genoa Township Board of Zoning Appeals as an Alternate. Currently, Barb is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jo Ann Davidson Ohio Leadership Institute. She formerly served by appointment of the Governor and confirmation of the Ohio Senate as the Consumer Representative on the Board of Motor Vehicle Collision Repair Registration from 1998-2006, and worked in the Ohio Department of Development's Office of Strategic Research. Her husband Jim practices law and they have two grown sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.
