Annual Township Events

  

With typical "small town" charm, Genoa Township Trustees and staff organize three annual events that provide warm memories for Township children and their families. Easter Egg Hunt

Township children enjoyed a snowy day of Easter fun!  Costumed Easter characters, games, Cheryl & Co. and Great Harvest Bread Co. treats and 15,000 Easter Eggs were some of the highlights of the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Many thanks to our faithful sponsors and the wonderful volunteers that help year after year!  Special thanks, too to the many Township employees  who help make this event such a great Township happening.


Children ages 1-10 enjoy the thrill of the Township Easter Egg Hunt. A day of fresh air and fun is shared  with Township Trustees, Staff, Easter Characters and Township families.

Genoa residents enjoyed a fun- filled evening at the annual Trick or Treat Village and Fire Open House.  Thank you to the many sponsors and volunteers who made this magical evening possible!

 

 

Trick or Treat Village is held in conjunction with the Fire Department's Fire Prevention Open House. Residents young and old enjoy an evening of family fun and learning. Along with Blaze the Fire Dog and Brutus our K-9, emergency personnel are on hand to promote fire safety, as well as share some fun with Genoa Township children and their families.

  
     
 

Genoa Trail Festival

June 2, 2007 marked the first annual Genoa Trail Festival with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended amongst others by past trustees, Congressman Pat Tiberi and Representative Jon Peterson.

The celebration commemorating the completion of the Township's portion of the Ohio-Erie Trail is a showcasing of the many wonderful qualities of Genoa Township.  Local vendors and businesses join together with the Township to make the day special for young and old.

The Township's International Association of Firefighters Local 4307 organizes races with proceeds going to MDA and our Police Department hosts a Classic Car and Bike Cruise in. Silent Auction and raffles proceeds go to Behind The Badge, an organization that helps families of fallen officers.

This new annual event will be held in the 3rd or 4th week of June in future years. We hope you'll come out and join the fun!
