Genoa Township is a rapidly growing township of approximately 21.5 square miles located in southeastern Delaware County, Ohio. The beautiful countryside and close proximity to Columbus and Franklin County has made Genoa Township an attractive place to live. In fact, Genoa is the second-fastest growing township in Delaware County, which is the 10th fastest growing county in the nation. Our population has risen from less than 5,000 in 1990 to over 25,000 residents today. …With easy access to Interstate 71 at the Polaris Parkway interchange, Genoa Township is quickly becoming an upscale bedroom community for Columbus and Franklin County.

Among the attractions in Genoa Township are Hoover Reservoir and two outstanding private golf courses: Highland Lakes Golf and Country Club and the Medallion Club. In addition, the Township is in the process of developing recreational opportunities for its residents that will include McNamara Park, a 25-acre park consisting of a large pavilion, a children's playground, soccer fields and a walking trail. Genoa Trail is a multi-purpose paved recreational trail on an abandoned rail bed along State Route 3 traversing the entire length of the Township from Maxtown Road to Plumb Road.
Three elected Trustees govern Genoa Township with an elected Fiscal Officer serving as the Township's chief financial officer. Genoa Township is organized into five full-time departments (Police, Fire, Maintenance, Zoning and Administration). The Police, Fire and Maintenance Departments are housed at the Safety/Service Complex at 7049 Big Walnut Road, Galena, Ohio and the Administration, Zoning, Fiscal Officer's Office and Town Hall are located at 5111 S. Old 3C Hwy., Westerville, Ohio.

An appointed Township Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations of the Township and acts as a liaison between the Township Trustees, the residents and employees. Under the jurisdiction of the three elected Trustees, the Administrator assists in the administration, enforcement and execution of policies and Resolutions of the Board, and directs the activities of the various departments within the Township government.

The Town Hall, where our Trustees hold Township meetings, is also available for rent by Township residents for meetings, parties and other social events. For additional Information or to schedule an event call the Administration Office at (614) 895-1126.
